Tudie's Roses

My great grandmother, Tudie, had beautiful roses. So much so, that her rose garden in Quissett, Massachusetts (on Cape Cod) was often open to the public. When she died, her roses were given away to whomever wanted them. I have two of them. They survived my move and a lengthy transplanting process. I have no idea what the name of this rose is, but it is lovely and apparently very healthy...

  2. My mother and her siblings gave a rosebush to my grandmother when her son returned from WWII. I was so pleased, recently, when I stopped by that house (no longer in the family), to see that rosebush flourishing!

    Lovely photo and story, Elizabeth.
