Turns out that Hemingway was given a polydactil cat (extra toes), a good luck charm according to fishermen, and that cat had generations of kittens. At one point Hemingway had about 70 cats! This is Francis Hemingway, one of the descendants of that original cat named Snowball, sitting on Hemingway's bed in his master bedroom. There are still many cats living at Hemingway's house in Key West. Really cool. Look at that mitten...

Wild Chickens
Wild chickens roam Key West. They are everywhere and are quite urban...
clearly skilled at navigating around moving cars!

Fishing in the Wind
It was a blustery day on the beach and EVERYONE was fishing...
I am in Key West and the wind has been roaring.
Even the palm trees are dancing.
Reminded me of these shots I took in Hobe Sound last month.

Snappy Dragons
Macro
Close-up
Far away in a field
Can you tell I LOVE these snappy dragons (AKA snapdragons)?
Super close, they remind me of overflowing ice cream cones. I guess I will
have to find a place to plant them at Whimplewood...

Roots
This is a big bunch of beet roots at a local farm stand. Have you ever seen roots like these? Normally, the bottom of the roots don't look so wild and wiry. They were all so beautiful piled on top of each other; I couldn't buy any and remove even one so I photographed them instead. I bet they were delicious!
